Well-known local dance identity Arna Singleton realised a dream last week, when she shared the stage with the world famous entertainer Madonna.
After auditioning in Sydney, Arna was flown to Toronto Canada to perform live with Madonna and other dancers at the launch of her “Addicted to Sweat” fitness class, featured at the star’s Hard Candy gym chain.
“It was a whirlwind trip after I was selected at the Australian audition but as I tell my students this happens in the life of a dancer,” said Arna, back at her usual 7am session with the Lowther Hall Hip Hop squad.
2014 is Arna’s tenth year coaching Lowther’s Hip Hop Teams. She has had outstanding success as a coach in interschool and open competitions, including state titles and a silver medal at the National School-aerobics Competition last year.
When not coaching and teaching, Arna performs, choreographs and directs. She is a high profile advocate for the hip hop dance scene, organising many community events, including City of Moonee Valley programs.
