Our recent Academic Awards Ceremony gave Grant House a chance to celebrate our highest VCE scorers from 2024. The ceremony also featured an inspiring address from 2016 Lowther Clarke Scholar (Dux) Carina Chi. Our 2024 VCE Study Scores ranked Lowther Hall as the best performing school for VCE results in Metropolitan Melbourne’s North and West!

Our Year 6 cohort were excited to receive their leadership badges during our recent Raymond House Commencement Service and Dedication of Year 6 Students. As our new leaders of Raymond House we can’t wait to see everything that they have in store for the junior school and the wider School community!

Term 1 is in full swing! The day began with Principal Elisabeth Rhodes encouraging students to consider how they can build momentum this year in their pursuits as we gathered for a whole school assembly. Like with riding a bike, or starting the school year, she noted that getting started can require a bit of extra effort, but that in no time everyone will be surging ahead with all of the momentum they have generated.

​Our Year 12 Recognition and Presentation Ceremony held this morning, celebrated students who have demonstrated all-round excellence, made significant contributions to the school community, and exhibited positive attributes in their studies and interactions with others.

​We gathered as a whole school for our annual Rose and Seed Exchange Ceremony recently, marking the beginning of our process of farewelling our fantastic Year 12 cohort.

​The Annual Music Concert is a highlight in our School calendar. Held at the Melbourne Recital Centre in September and featuring over 300 students from Years 4 -12, the concert showcased the depth and quality of our Music Program at Lowther Hall and featured the following ensembles...

Our recent Winter Strings Festival showcased all of our string ensembles, from the youngest group, Pizzicato Strings, to our most advanced ensembles, Chamber Strings and Ferguson Strings. This annual event, featuring over 160 students, is one of the major highlights on our Music Calendar. Congratulations to all of the girls involved and our dedicated Strings Department staff for their hard work!

From Osaka to Melbourne! Welcome to our wonderful Shin-Ai students, who have arrived for their two-week exchange with us and started the morning with a full school tour. During their stay, they are immersed in Australian culture, living with their host families, attending some classes and activities on site, as well as exploring Melbourne city and the surrounding areas.

Recently, we co-convened an International Coalition of Girls’ Schools symposium on educating girls at Melbourne Girls Grammar.
