After competing against hundreds of students across the state, Year 10 student Antigony has been awarded with 2nd place at the La Trobe Young Writers’ Awards! The annual award requires Year 10 students to enter an original creative writing piece on a theme, and Antigony won for her entry entitled: Comatose. Well done, Antigony!
Year 12 student Rebecca Rusinovic has been named Moonee Valley's Young Sporting Spirit Individual for 2017 at the Leader Sports Awards! Rebecca won for demonstrating the greatest in achievement, dedication, fairness and sportsmanship out of hundreds of nominees, and received her award at a ceremony held last night at Etihad Stadium. Well done, Rebecca!
Today we celebrated ‘Walk to School’ Day! In support of Moonee Valley’s October ‘Walk to School’ initiative, Lowther students from Kinder to Year 12 formed walking groups accompanied by staff.
On Friday our Year 9 students held their successful ‘Fun Run’! The event was organised by the girls to raise funds for Hong, a young woman in Vietnam who Lowther Hall (in partnership with the Lifestart Foundation) has supported for the past 5 years...
It was a great start to Term 4 today, with our annual ‘Prep and Year 12 Gift Exchange’, at which Year 12 girls receive a yellow rose from Prep girls, and the Preps in turn receive seedlings - to symbolise growth, responsibility and tradition during their time as students at Lowther. Welcome back to all of our girls. We look forward to an excellent term ahead!
Be guided on a tour of our School by Lowther Hall students! Our ‘School Tours’ Day will be held Saturday 14 October. Kindergarten to Year 12 tours will commence at 9.30am, and Year 7 to Year 12 tours will commence at 11.00am.
You are invited to the annual Lowther Hall Art and Design Exhibition from Friday 13 October to Monday 16 October. Students from Kindergarten to Year 12 will showcase their artistic and creative talents at the 4 day exhibition, to be held in the Joan M. Garde Cultural Centre at the School.
What an exciting Term 3 it has been at Lowther Hall! As the Term draws to a close today, we farewell our students heading off on the France and Japan Study Tours, and wish our Year 9 girls all the best as they hike in the Grampians for their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. We hope all our students enjoy a restful break, see you in Term 4!
Well done to Year 12 student, Georgina, who has won a prestigious ‘Swannie’ Award from the Debating Association of Victoria! Georgina achieved the highest average A-Grade speaker score in the region in 2017. Good work, Georgina!
