Students in Years 6 and 7 visited Yarra Plenty Regional Library to participate in the Rorchestra initiative.
The program asked the students to work in groups to create an originally designed musical instrument using assorted recycled items. Using ICT tools, our girls then needed to give their instruments sound; this was achieved through students recording their own noises and sourcing sound files from the Internet to create mash-ups for different tones for their instruments.
With no restrictions or guidelines for the project, our girls created some unique instruments and sounds!
Our students were able to work on their team building and problem solving skills, as well as apply creativity and science thinking to this interactive and exciting program.
