Year 10 student Elena has been experiencing life as a writer for the State Library of Victoria’s ‘Inside a Dog’ website for the month of April. Elena was chosen to write articles in the form of reviews or discussions of Young Adult literature.   

Each month the State Library of Victoria selects a student between the ages of 12 and 18 for the paid position to write for the website, which aims to be a place for teen readers to find great reads, share their reviews of books and discuss book news with others.   

Elena wrote articles for ‘Inside a Dog’ about the representation of women in Young Adult fiction, her views on the ‘dystopian’ genre of novels, recommendations of novels that relate to popular television programs, and a review of the book ‘Lady Helen and the Dark Days Club’.
