It has been an incredibly exciting week at Lowther Hall: Last Friday we launched the new history of the School, Rising Pillars, Open Doors, with 4 launches across the day for students, parents and the broader school community. The book was very well received with the “boxed edition” selling out and many people taking the opportunity to have the history signed by the authors at the Friday night Centenary Garden Party. This week we celebrated International Women’s Day with the annual Lowther Women Luncheon, which this year had a special history focus to coincide with the centenary. It was joyous to see close to 300 members of the School community come together to share a meal and reflect on the ways in which history has been written by and about Lowther women! Another highlight of the week for me was the Senior School House Performing Arts Competition which took place on Tuesday. I was incredibly proud of the ways in which our House leaders had led their peers to produce 6 highly entertaining and well executed plays, which involved girls from a variety of year levels as lead actors, dancers, musicians and crew. All these events reflect the true spirit of our school – a spirit that honours tradition, is intentionally inclusive and has the girls firmly at the centre. Once again, I have been so proud to be part of such a positive community as we have celebrated together.
