​Our Year 12 Recognition and Presentation Ceremony held this morning, celebrated students who have demonstrated all-round excellence, made significant contributions to the school community, and exhibited positive attributes in their studies and interactions with others.

​We gathered as a whole school for our annual Rose and Seed Exchange Ceremony recently, marking the beginning of our process of farewelling our fantastic Year 12 cohort.

​The Annual Music Concert is a highlight in our School calendar. Held at the Melbourne Recital Centre in September and featuring over 300 students from Years 4 -12, the concert showcased the depth and quality of our Music Program at Lowther Hall and featured the following ensembles...

Our recent Winter Strings Festival showcased all of our string ensembles, from the youngest group, Pizzicato Strings, to our most advanced ensembles, Chamber Strings and Ferguson Strings. This annual event, featuring over 160 students, is one of the major highlights on our Music Calendar. Congratulations to all of the girls involved and our dedicated Strings Department staff for their hard work!

From Osaka to Melbourne! Welcome to our wonderful Shin-Ai students, who have arrived for their two-week exchange with us and started the morning with a full school tour. During their stay, they are immersed in Australian culture, living with their host families, attending some classes and activities on site, as well as exploring Melbourne city and the surrounding areas.

Recently, we co-convened an International Coalition of Girls’ Schools symposium on educating girls at Melbourne Girls Grammar.

It was a wonderful day at our International Women’s Day Lunch at the Park Hyatt! Thank you to our incredible speakers: award winning radio and television journalist, reporter for Channel 9 News, 3AW radio host, Vice President of the Melbourne Press Club and current parent Heidi Murphy as well as Old Grammarian (Class of 1996) Matti Clements, Director of the Australian Institute of Sport (first woman to hold this role) and Psychologist. ​The newest members of Blinkbonnie House were delighted to receive their Lowther Bears from our Principal at their recent Welcome Assembly, symbolising the start of their journey at the school.

We held our Senior School Commencement Service and Dedication of Year 12 on Friday. The symbolic encirclement of our School community with light by the Year 12 cohort marked a beautiful pledge to lead us through the coming year, and as a community we promised to support them in their important work.
