It was wonderful to see all of our girls back at school this week ready for another action packed term. At our whole school assembly on Tuesday we enjoyed one of our most significant school rituals, where each Prep student presented each of our Year 12 girls with a gold rose, and they, in turn, gave her a gift of seeds.

It was a great start to Term 4 today, with our annual ‘Prep and Year 12 Gift Exchange’, at which Year 12 girls receive a yellow rose from Prep girls, and the Preps in turn receive seedlings - to symbolise growth, responsibility and tradition during their time as students at Lowther. Welcome back to all of our girls. We look forward to an excellent term ahead!

Be guided on a tour of our School by Lowther Hall students! Our ‘School Tours’ Day will be held Saturday 14 October. Kindergarten to Year 12 tours will commence at 9.30am, and Year 7 to Year 12 tours will commence at 11.00am.

You are invited to the annual Lowther Hall Art and Design Exhibition from Friday 13 October to Monday 16 October. Students from Kindergarten to Year 12 will showcase their artistic and creative talents at the 4 day exhibition, to be held in the Joan M. Garde Cultural Centre at the School.

What an exciting Term 3 it has been at Lowther Hall! As the Term draws to a close today, we farewell our students heading off on the France and Japan Study Tours, and wish our Year 9 girls all the best as they hike in the Grampians for their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. We hope all our students enjoy a restful break, see you in Term 4!

I know that those of you who attended the Annual Music Concert on Wednesday evening will agree that we were treated to a wonderful night of music with outstanding performances from our bands, orchestras, choirs, ensembles and soloists.

Well done to Year 12 student, Georgina, who has won a prestigious ‘Swannie’ Award from the Debating Association of Victoria! Georgina achieved the highest average A-Grade speaker score in the region in 2017. Good work, Georgina!

Our Annual Music Concert is nearly upon us! The evening will showcase an impressive program of bands, ensembles, choirs and orchestra, to be held at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Wednesday 13 September.
