Assemblies are one of the places where I get the most opportunity to speak to the girls and share ideas with the hope that I will be helpful! Last Friday in Junior School Assembly we focussed on dealing with disappointment and the girls shared experiences where a person might feel disappointed:

Each year National Reconciliation Week celebrates and builds on the respectful relationships shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians. The dates that bookend the week are significant milestones in the reconciliation journey.

I have felt such a sense of pride this week as I have sat in the audience for both the Senior School Production and the Evening of Song – these wonderful events are a testimony to the hard work and dedication of girls, staff and parents and were of a wonderful standard.

There is a great buzz of excitement as tomorrow’s opening night of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe approaches, similarly, for all the students involved in next Tuesday’s Evening of Song. I look forward to seeing many of you at that or one of the weekend performances.

Sunday is Mother’s Day and this week we have the opportunity to celebrate at school with our Mother’s Day Breakfasts and various other special events. This is a time of year to pause and pay homage...

The girls returned to school for the start of Term 2 yesterday with high energy levels and a great deal of enthusiasm. We began the day with a whole school assembly where we celebrated the many ways in which girls across the School have demonstrated the Quality “She is confident and independent” so far this year.

It is hard to believe that it is already the end of term! There have been so many wonderful moments of learning, many personal and team sporting successes, musical highlights, cross-age experiences, great leadership and so much personal growth in the girls.

Greetings from New York where the Choir Tour is about to swing into action! I am very much looking forward to hearing the girls sing at Carnegie Hall on the weekend and will provide a full update in next week’s Blog.
