Year 10 Curriculum Outline

Core Subjects

  • English
  • Mathematics: Pre General Mathematics, Pre Methods Mathematics, VCE Mathematical Methods (Units 1&2) VCE Specialist Mathematics (Units 1&2)
  • Humanities (one semester elective required) History, Geography, Civics 
  • Languages: either French or Japanese  
  • Philosophy and Religious Studies
  • Science: Science, VCE Biology (Units 1&2), VCE Psychology (Units 1&2)
  • Sport
  • Camp (Year 10 Camp is a cornerstone of the Year 10 Curriculum and is strategically placed at the point when the girls are about to make the transition into Year 11 VCE.)

Optional Electives

  • Drama/Dance: Behind the Scenes/21st Century Dance
  • English EAL/Literature
  • Health and Food Education: Food for the Future, Health & Wellbeing, The Restaurant, VCE Unit 1&2 Health and Human Development
  • Humanities: History, Civics, Geography, VCE Accouning (Units 1&2)
  • Information Technology: Digital Technologies, VCE Computing (Units 1&2)
  • Learning Support (in lieu of LOTE)
  • Media: VCE Media (Units 1&2)
  • Music: Music Styles & Performance; VCE Music Styles & Composition (Unit 2)
  • Personal and Social Development: Year Level Workshops
  • Philosophy and Religious Studies: VCE Religion and Society (Ethics)
  • Physical Education: Sports Skills, Sport Science
  • Visual Arts: Art, Design, Ceramics

International Exchange Program

Students in 10 have the opportunity to participate in the International Exchange Program as part of a group exchange (to Japan or France) or an individual exchange (to New Zealand or Canada).
