The students were welcomed at a Senior School assembly earlier this week and have been participating in activities both at school and off site to help them to understand life in Australia. I would like to thank the families who are hosting the French students for their hospitality. It is their generosity that allows us to facilitate these invaluable cultural exchanges which so richly enhance the life of our School.

Year 4 Camp

Today I will be visiting Year 4 Camp with Mrs Prandolini to join in some of the activities with our girls at Portsea. This year, for the first time, twelve Year 8 girls have attended the camp as leaders and are working with the Year 4 girls and staff to develop the Qualities of the Lowther Hall Girl in their younger peers (and in themselves I am sure!) We are fortunate to be able to facilitate these cross-age experiences and I thank both Ms Healy and Mrs Prandolini for their work to develop this initiative.

ANZAC Day Celebrations

The celebration of the ANZAC Centenary within the School is now well underway. I am looking forward to seeing many members of our School Community at the Dawn Service on Saturday. At this service some students will share stories of their relatives who served in World War I, wreaths will be laid by representatives of various parts of the school (including our Australian, New Zealand and Turkish members) and there will be the usual formalities including the playing of the last post and the singing of the National Anthem. I do hope that you will join us (don’t forget to rug up and bring something to sit on if you don’t want to stand!)
