Term 1 has ended in a wonderfully positive manner today with the commissioning of Reverend Fiona Raike by Bishop Kate Prowd. With the assistance of representatives girls from Years 1 to 12 in attendance and representatives from our School Council, Parents and Friends’ Association, Old Grammarians’ Association and staff, we welcomed Fiona and prayed for her as she embarked on her ministry with our existing Chaplain, Reverend Emily Fraser, to lead the spiritual life of our school. Girls across the School also participated in Easter services where they were encouraged to connect with the optimism and hope of the season in ways that were most meaningful for them. I was proud to also be participating today in an initiative led by our Faith and Worship and Social Justice Prefects to support World Vision and St Paul’s Cathedral in gathering “Bears on Stairs” for asylum seeker children. This was a reminder of those who might be struggling and in need of our support at this time of year and an excellent opportunity to live our school motto, non nobis solum.

As always, the girls have flourished this term and shown great progress in learning. They have thrown themselves into various sporting competitions, musical performances, debating, dance, theatre, coding and so much more. The break will provide a well-deserved opportunity to rest and recharge and to spend time with family and friends. I wish all our families a safe and restful break and an Easter period informed by the hope of the resurrection.

See you next term!
