I am so proud of the outstanding VCE results at Lowther Hall in 2017 as they are a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our students and our teachers. 23 percent of the Year 12 cohort scored an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Entrance Rank) of 95 or above, placing them in the top 5 percent of the nation. 39 percent of ATARs were 90 or more. These remarkable figures demonstrate a commitment to the pursuit of academic excellence in girls and staff alike. As a school that values a breadth of academic experience and encourages girls to pursue their own strengths, interests and talents, I am particularly delighted that 12 separate subject areas have seen 25 percent or more of the cohort achieve scores of 40 or above. Our mission to educate the whole person for the whole of life has certainly been lived out by many of our highest achievers, who have combined their VCE studies with leadership positions and/or a range of co-curricular pursuits. I commend each girl who has applied herself to achieve her very best and celebrate the many wonderful results as well as the knowledge, skills, experiences and qualities that have been acquired along the way.
